Venus at the 8th Gate

Tonight is the final visible conjunction with Venus and a sliver of the waxing crescent new Moon in Gemini in the Evening Sky (look northwest.) Mercury will be nearby. Wow! I hope you create space and have clear skies to drink in that beauty. I wish you some time to breathe into your moment, soften into your body, and allow your heart to receive the medicine of this culmination.
In another week, around May 28th, Venus will disappear from the Evening Sky. She will come into union with her Beloved Sun on June 3rd and re-appear as Morning Star around June 9th. Once she is invisible, we will be in the Reset part of Venus' 4-Phase Cycle. From my view, Reset, not Underworld... Reset! More on that in a minute.
But tonight - the final gate! This is the 8th meet up with the Moon in the Evening Sky and correlates to the "Soul Star" chakra, a point above our crown where all prior lessons integrate. Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, is close by. Gemini is about learning, curiosity, fluidity, and openness. Tonight we have heart and mind conversing. We have a chance to integrate our deep heart lessons from the past 19 months. What a time it's been! Life as we knew it changed before our eyes and beneath our feet in this last cycle.
I pulled the 2 of Cups by Tarot de St. Croix for a New Moon ceremony I attended on Friday. During Venus retrograde, we are in a reflective time around love and our most intimate connections. Even more so with this cycle as it started in Scorpio and Venus was first visible in Libra - an intense deep dive into sexuality and equality. The image on this card represents to me a renewal of our faith in love. So many of us in this last cycle shed illusions, touched ancient wounds, and recognized unhealthy patterns in our relating. So many did the courageous work of balancing distortions that were buried our unconscious and draining our life force. Cheers to you, brave hearts.
No matter how thoroughly we've been disappointed in love, at some point we feel the longing for true partnership. Or we wish to transform with our current partner towards a more beautiful way of relating. On the other side of this new awareness of how we participated in toxic relating, we see the possibility for partnerships that can change the world. I sense this may have been some of the most profound work of our lifetime of healing the wounds of the feminine and reconciling the sacred masculine and feminine within. If we were initiated into this process, our relating may never be the same.
Neptune is squaring Venus since May 20th which brings a dreamy, foggy, quality to this Venus retrograde and new Moon in Gemini. It's okay to fantasize and float in the unknown, clarity will come. This may not be the best time to make big decisions about relationships yet it's a sweet time to feel into the highest and deepest visions of how you wish to love and be loved.
In each 19-month cycle, the Sacred Feminine goes on a Heroine's Journey and we can learn more about our Deep Feminine nature by following her. At this time, she is coming in the home stretch from her journey. I hope you will write a victorious ending of your heart story for this past cycle. When we own our stories and claim our narrative, we source our true power.
I've included a model of the 4 Phases of Venus' 19-month cycle that I created with help from my talented Venus sister, Selena Wilson. I would love to hear your feedback on how you relate to it. This cycle marks my 8th year syncing with Venus'. I began when she visibly crossed the face of the Sun (last time in our lifetime) in the sign of Gemini. I am now teaching many visionaries how to work with the cycle. I will send out the version with all of the dates for the next cycle soon or look for it in the Venus Wisdom Collective Facebook group.
My experience with the Venus cycle has been a discovery process and practice over time. I have created intimacy with Venus through watching her and allowing her light into my eyes, aligning with gravity and breath to deepen into my body, allowed my body to sink into my seat on the Earth, aware of the aliveness beneath me and spine reaching for the stars. I have softened my lips and murmuring, "ahhh, ahhh, ahhh", and letting go to rest in the presence of the moment.
Through this process, I have come to know the time when she disappears from the Evening Sky as Reset, not Underworld. When she disappears from the Evening Sky, she meets up with Sun to seed a new cycle and then re-appears as Morning Star in the next cycle. It's a transitional time of endings, union, and a new beginning.
Venus invisibility feels very different here than when she is on the other side of the sun. In Reset, she is closest to Earth and can most easily transmit her energy to those of us tuning in. Her time of invisibility is brief - usually 8-14 days, sometimes much less. I experience her as a mature Queen going backstage for a costume change, having a luscious date with her Beloved Sun, and a re-appearance in her new costume of feminine consciousness. She starts over in a new sign and becomes young again in the Morning Sky.
When she is on the other side of the Sun, I feel the initiation into the Underworld, the trial of meeting her shadow self, dying to who she was, and hanging in the unknown, undone for 3 months or more. This to me feels like the Underworld, the heaviness, the loss of hope, and eventually that spark of life that re-ignites her resurrection and rebirth into the Evening Sky.
